Let there be chicken and leek soup.

And there was chicken and leek soup.

And she saw that it was good.

And since this was on a day when she had also said, "Let there be a whole week's worth of class plans," and there were class plans, she was feeling pretty good about herself.

I love leeks in soup. LOVE THEM. I will have to try this combo, as it is one I haven't used before.
And I agree...Tee hee on the matching posts!
Leeks are one of my favorite vegetables. They have a very warm flavor, not so sharp as onions. The best thing I've ever made with them was a spoonbread that also had shiitake mushrooms. Yum.
Awesome post.
On the rare occasions that I cook, I ought to have a photographer there (Eric?) That soup looks really good; I hope the bread was too.
