Books for Africa

I'm excited about this charity. I found out about it from a big box outside the campus bookstore where I teach, and just now I learned that it's a local organization. We're definitely going to drop some of our old textbooks in that box next week (much better than just recycling them, like we originally planned), and I think I'll look into volunteering in their warehouse.

Weird. I was actually looking at a job opening there a few months ago. Half-price books is nice for getting rid of books, too. I got two movies out of all of Jonathan's old, random teaching textbooks from the book reps.

A lot of our textbooks are very old editions (I have a biology text from my freshman year), so I doubt a used bookstore would take them. But I have an appointment to take a couple boxes of books to the B&N in Roseville next week. The word on the street is they give more cash than Half-Price.
