Really Weirded Out

Just now, goofing around, waiting for the window guy (who is two hours late), I discovered that someone has been plagiarizing bits and pieces of my blog, including my profile photo. Ummm. What is the appropriate response to this situation?

That is just messed up. I just about commented. I would see if you can contact blogger and have it pulled.

P.S. How on earth did you find this?

I clicked on one of my interests to see if any other bloggers had listed it. Only two had, and one had my same profile photo.

contact blogger, and tell them about this. Make sure you emphasize that it's identity theft, and you'd like them prosecuted.

That gets a response right quick.

I think you should remove this post before the other person realizes that you have caught on to them. I think it would be interesting just to watch and see what they do with their blog of your life.

I agree that it might be interesting, but the whole thing makes me uncomfortable, and I think I'd actually rather the other blog didn't exist.

The weird thing (because the rest of it is completely normal) is that this person seems to have friends that take the thing seriously and leave comments.

WHAT THE HELL??? I just read those comments. Someone stole my comment about the wallet.

That was one ocmmment that I was particularly fond of, too. It's on the reply to their first post.

I wonder if it's someone spamming, or perhaps someone who hacked into blogger?

It seems that all of those comments were stolen from the posts here at OG Amber.

Did you see how she/he/it even picked and chose from your profile interests for theirs?

I can't believe the comments are hijacked too! I as wondering why the only profile picture listed belonged to the blog owner. Guess we know now.

Seriously, what is the POINT to this other blog? WEIRD.

That's actually what's bothering me the most about it, too. I don't understand what the other person could possibly be getting out of it. It makes me feel kind of paranoid.

Are we prohibited from saying something on this weirdo's blog?

That's fucking strange, I wish I had seen it before it was taken down. I wonder if I have a doppelblogger?

Huh. I never had a chance to report this to Blogger. So whoever it was must've read all this and deleted the impostor blog on their own. I think I prefer that. Except now I might be forever paranoid that they just started it up somewhere else where I can't keep watch on it.

Loralee, thanks for asking, but I don't think I would have had a problem with anybody commenting there. Sorry you didn't get a chance! :P
